BrightDiamond, Inc. is committed to protecting your privacy. Our privacy policy covers the information collected when you visit the BrightDiamond, Inc. site, how we use that information, and the circumstances under which we may disclose that information. By using the BrightDiamond, Inc. site, you agree with the terms and conditions of this privacy policy.
1. The information collected
When you visit BrightDiamond, Inc., we receive and collect certain information to help us provide to you the best service possible. The type of information that we receive and collect depends on what you do when you visit BrightDiamond, Inc..
- Automatically Collected Information. Some information is automatically received and sometimes collected from you when you visit BrightDiamond, Inc.. The name of the domain and host you use to access the internet, the internet protocol (IP) address of your computer, the browser software you are using and your operating system, the date and time when you access our site, and the internet address of the web site from which you linked directly to our site are received and collected to help us monitor the usage of our site. BrightDiamond, Inc. uses "cookies" (small files or records placed on your computer's hard drive to collect information about your activities on our site) to enhance your individual browsing and shopping experience. Cookies transmit information about your activities on BrightDiamond, Inc. back to our computers and are, generally speaking, the only computers authorized to read that information. We analyze this information to find ways to (1) speed up your navigation on the site, keep track of items in your shopping cart, and custom-tailor the content you see; (2) remember the information you gave to us earlier so that you don't have to re-enter it each time you visit; (3) judge how effective our marketing e-mail campaigns are; and (4) keep track of statistics such as total number of visitors, number of pages viewed, and the total number of banners served.

"Message format" sensing technology recognizes whether your e-mail program can receive HTML e-mails and then links that information to your e-mail address so that future messages are sent to you in HTML format. "Message open" sensing technology recognizes whether you have opened our e-mail message and can only detect this if your e-mail program is able to receive HTML emails.
- Information Actively Submitted to BrightDiamond, Inc.. You will need to actively submit personal customer information, including your name, e-mail address, billing address(es), shipping address(es), phone number, and credit card information: when you want to (1) open an account or complete an order, (2) sign up for special offers, or (3) e-mail a product to a friend.
Creating a BrightDiamond, Inc. account or completing an order. You can create a customer account with BrightDiamond, Inc. to set up a Wish List or complete an order. To open an account, you will need to create a password-protected account with us. In doing so, we require that you provide us with all of the following personal customer information: your name, e-mail address, billing address(es), shipping address(es), and credit card information. We use industry-standard e-commerce security technology to protect the personal customer information you transmit to us when establishing your account and each time you access your account information. When setting up the account, we ask you to create a password. When you want to make a purchase or change your stored personal customer information, we approve your access by verifying your e-mail address with your password.
Signing up for special offers. You may sign up for our special offers for sales, coupons, and other promotions on BrightDiamond, Inc. by supplying your e-mail address in the left-hand navigation under "Services." Please take note that this e-mail registry is not the same as the the BrightDiamond, Inc. Account and password that you set up to make purchases. You can sign up for special offers as either a registered or non-registered customer of BrightDiamond, Inc..
E-mailing a product to a friend. You may e-mail a product to a friend or to yourself by supplying your name and e-mail address and your friend's name and e-mail address. We request this information only so that your friend knows that you have requested BrightDiamond, Inc. to send them an e-mail and will not use the information for promotional purposes.
Most of the browsing services we provide do not require or collect personal customer information. You can browse BrightDiamond, Inc. and take as much time as you want to view our jewelry gallery or loose diamonds, build your own jewelry, or review our services without submitting any personal customer information. Even when you use our shopping cart while browsing, there is still no requirement for submitting personal customer information.
2. How personal customer information is used or shared
BrightDiamond, Inc. occasionally uses personal customer information in marketing products and services. You can request to have your personal customer information not used for this purpose at any time by visiting Your Account and following the instructions under Name, Password, and Communication Preferences.
BrightDiamond, Inc. shares the personal customer information collected as follows:
- Shipping Carriers. We give our shipping carriers involved in the order process the minimum necessary personal customer information. Our shipping carriers have no right to use your personal customer information beyond what is necessary in delivering your package.
- Credit card companies. Third-party financial institutions and their vendors that handle credit card transactions receive the credit card number and other personal identifying information only to verify the credit card numbers and process transactions.
- Law Enforcement Investigations. BrightDiamond, Inc. may release personal customer information when, in our good judgment, it is believed that such release is reasonably necessary to comply with law, to enforce or apply the terms of any of our policies or user agreements, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of BrightDiamond, Inc., our users, or others.
BrightDiamond, Inc. may share statistical information about our customers with our business partners, but we will not share any specific personal customer information.
3. Communications from BrightDiamond, Inc.
As a customer, you may receive the following communications from BrightDiamond, Inc. :
- Communications regarding transaction and account maintenance activities. These communications include but are not limited to the following: order confirmations, order update notices, order problem notices, and notices regarding material changes to site policies and account management procedures.
- Communications regarding promotional information for BrightDiamond, Inc. products and services. BrightDiamond, Inc. sends promotional e-mails and other outbound communications to our customers regarding products and services from BrightDiamond, Inc.. Any customer wishing not to receive such product and service communications can choose to remove his or her contact information from our contact list at any time by going to "Your Account," selecting "Name, Password, and Communication Preferences," identifying the "Change My Communication Preferences" section, unchecking the box, and then submitting such changes by selecting the "Save Changes" button on the bottom of the page.
- Communications requested by you for BrightDiamond, Inc. to send product information to a friend. You can request BrightDiamond, Inc. to send product information in an e-mail to yourself or to a friend.
4. Underage customers
Our products and services are marketed for purchase by adults or with the consent of adults. Therefore, BrightDiamond, Inc. requires a credit card that has been authorized for use to complete purchases on our site.
5. Changes to Privacy Policy
This privacy policy was last changed on August 3, 2004. BrightDiamond, Inc. reserves the right to modify or amend this policy at any time by posting the revised privacy policy on our site. Any changes will only affect that information collected after the effective date of the change to our privacy policy, unless clearly expressed otherwise.
